Functional and Radiological Outcome of Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty in the Indonesian National Referral Hospital

Background: Revision total hip arthroplasty (rTHA) rate has increased until 12-20% in the past few decades, despite 95% success of THA approach 10 years and 80% 20 years. The most common causes rTHA are dislocation, periprosthetic fracture, aseptic loosening, joint infection. This study is aimed to describe outcome Indonesia where there limited types revision implant funding. Material Methods: An analytic cross-sectional was conducted on 31 Indonesian national referral hospital from January 2014 December 2019. Data extracted. All subjects met criteria underwent examination for functional (Harris score) radiological or Engh criteria). complications outcomes after were identified. Results: Sixteen with mean age 48.13 (18.74). perirosthetic infection (five cases each, 31.25%). Harris score complete 79.42 (SD 6.14, range 70.50 – 91) follow up 29.50 16.88, 7 70 months). Only one possible loosening identified hybrid prosthesis (femoral component) exam. Three observed, i.e. drop foot, recurrent extension knee contracture. Conclusion: produces fair good results terms no still a reliable technique manage THA.
